The Greater Kansas City, MO, Chapter #100 was chartered by three women in the Kansas City area Gail Benson, Judy Clark and Bonnie Grainger and the sponsorship of the Saint Louis, MO chapter. 

  • Started May 1, 1965 with 72 charter members
  • Member of Region 6 comprised of Kansas and Missouri
  • Charter member Dixie Osborne is still active today
  • Currently 75 members strong
Members include:
  • General contractors and sub-contractors
  • Suppliers and Vendors
  • Support companies of the construction industry
  • Business owners, tradeswomen, administration, project mangers, lawyers, accountants, bonding agents, insurance companies, etc.
Kansas City is active with:
  • Habitat For Humanity Woman Build
  • Girl Scouts
  • Block Kids
  • Scholarships to area colleges
  • And several other community events through out the year

NAWIC National

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded in 1953 by 16 women working in the construction industry. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction.
