Local EventsAnnual Bowling TournamentThe NAWIC "Super Bowl" Tournament has been a part of our chapter since 1998.
Each year we hold our bowling tournament on the Sunday prior to the NFL Super Bowl Championship (January or February of each year). It has proven to be a great success for networking opportunities as well as for having a really fun time!!! As a professional organization, we rely on the proceeds of our bowling tournament to carry out our objectives for the construction industry. These goals include getting the message out to our community and our youth to consider careers in all areas of the construction industry, promoting the positive image of construction to the general public, and enhancing the educational background of construction industry professionals. Industry CelebrationThe Construction Industry Celebration (CIC) banquet honors the continued support of member companies, industry associations, and others that contribute to the success of our association. The CIC banquet is one of the Kansas City chapter's largest annual events which showcases our most outstanding projects throughout the year and is host to many well-known local and national speakers. In recent years it has also become a forum in which to bestow an award to local individuals, which is fashioned after the National Crystal Vision and Crystal Achievement Awards. The CIC banquet also offers members an excellent opportunity for networking. The Crystal Vision Awards Program was established by NAWIC Past National President Susan Levy in 1995. The program recognizes individuals who promote the role of women in construction though initiatives, policies, or legislation. The Crystal Vision Award recognizes a nonmember (man or woman) and the Crystal Achievement Award recognizes a member of the Association. As members of the local construction community you can nominate an individual for either the Crystal Vision and/or Achievement award. Local winners will be submitted as a nominee for the national award. The Crystal Vision Award 2011 Awards Selection Criteria The Crystal Vision Award will be awarded to a nonmember of NAWIC.
