Regional Safety Excellence Award
The purpose of the Safety Excellence Award is to recognize those companies who excel at safety performance.  Each candidate will be examined for their commitment to safety, occupational health management and risk control.  Judges will look for evidence of company management commitment, active employee participation, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovation.

Participants will be required to complete the application form.  The application form must be filled out completely to qualify.  If there are portions of the form that do not apply mark an N/A response.  

An independent committee will review the submissions and the winners will be notified at the Regional Forum. A winner will be chosen for each category (Construction Company and Construction Related Industry Company) deadline for chapter review is 5:00 pm on March 14, 2011.  

Since 1997, the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) has been sponsoring the annual Women in Construction Week held during the first week in March.  It is designed to increase awareness of the importance and visibility of women in the construction industry. 

NAWIC Chapters throughout America and Canada will celebrate the week with a variety of special events and activities that are designed to promote construction and the value of women's contributions to the industry while furthering NAWIC’s involvement in community projects. Throughout the year, NAWIC chapters give back to their communities, but these efforts increase substantially during WIC Week.
