The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) – Greater Kansas City, Missouri Chapter’s Construction Industry Celebration celebrated the incredible achievements of women in the construction industry. Held at the groundbreaking CPKC stadium, the event honored the resilience, talent, and innovation of women in both construction and sports. It provided a platform for networking, insightful discussions, and recognition of excellence, while also highlighting the strides being made in women’s sports. The event showcased the power of collaboration and the inspiration that comes from seeing history in the making.
2024 Influential Leader in Construction Awards
The Greater Kansas City, Missouri Chapter 100 of the National Association of Women in Construction is pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 Influential Leader in Construction award.

Jennifer is a distinguished leader in the construction industry, honored as one of the 2024 Influential Leaders in Construction. A Kansas State University graduate, she founded her 100% WBE construction company in 2011, after working with both large firms like HNTB and smaller architectural teams. She has been a driving force behind some of Kansas City’s marquee projects, including the KCI Airport single terminal contract. Her company’s excellence was recognized with the Missouri Samm Business of the Year award in 2022.
A passionate mentor, she dedicates time to helping women advance in the industry. She has made a significant impact in her community, including volunteering at Sheffield Place, a homeless shelter, and hiring a woman who later became a key team member on the KCI project. She serves on the Builders Association board and is actively involved with Kansas City Community Gardens, empowering low-income households to create community gardens. |
Dale Eason, Marketing Manager at Talon Concrete & Aggregates – Quicksilver Readymix, has been a key figure in the Kansas City construction industry for over 30 years. For the last 12 years, he has mentored teams in marketing, sales, quality control, and operations. Dale has also held roles at Lafarge, George J. Shaw Construction, and Fordyce, leaving a lasting impact on the industry through his work with associations like the Concrete Promotional Group and American Concrete Institute.
A dedicated supporter of NAWIC, Dale introduced many to the KC NAWIC Chapter and has volunteered with programs like Block Kids and Camp NAWIC. He’s known for mentoring others, offering guidance with patience and humility. Recently, he shared his journey with women in construction and his personal experiences with alcohol on a construction podcast, hoping to inspire others. Dale’s generosity, leadership, and commitment to the industry make him a deserving recipient of the 2024 Influential Leader in Construction – Man award. |
